What is the difference between Au Pairs and Nannies?The term Au Pair in French means on equal terms. An au pair is a young person between 18 and 30 years who becomes a temporary member of your family. Usually, it's a young girl (90 percent) but more and more often, young boys are taking the opportunity to improve their language skills and get acquainted with a new culture. Nannies may be older, with several years of a childcare experience. Nanny salaries may be higher: $300-800 per week depending on the experience and additional responsibilities: cooking, cleaning, household management, etc. It is not required to pay employee taxes for your au pair, where it is required that employment taxes be paid for a nanny. What is Au Pair King Site?Au Pair King Site is an online Au Pair Job Database, where you can register for FREE to check the available au pair/nanny and family profiles to contact them later for job opportunities. Is Au Pair King Site an au pair agency?No. Au Pair King Site is not an au pair agency. You can use Au Pair King Site to find a caring au pair or a kind host family and make all the necessary arrangements without using an agency. By doing everything yourself, you can save a vast amount of money. Do I need to go through an au pair agency?In most countries neither the au pair nor the host family has to make use of an agency. The only exception is USA (United States of America). To become a legal au pair in the USA you need to apply for J1-Visa through one of the federally designated au pair agencies. Why should I register as an au pair or family?This is required to allow families (if you want to become an au pair) or au pairs (if you want to host an au pair in your family) to view your profile details depending on the information you enter during the registration process. Without such a profile it wouldn't be possible for others to learn more about you or to contact you. How to find an Au Pair or Family?After logging into your account you will be able to search for appropriates au pairs/families in countries you have specified within your profile by clicking on Find Au Pair or Find Family links on the right. If you want to find an au pair/nanny or family in a specific country, you can use Search Au Pairs by Countries and Search Families by Countries links on the right. How to Contact an Au Pair or Family?You will need to become a Premium Member to be able to access contact details for all listed profiles in specified duration. Must both - Au Pair and Family - be Premium Members to be able to contact each other directly?No. It's sufficient if either the family or the au pair is a Premium Member. Then you can make all your arrangements directly with this au pair or family. As a Premium Member, do I need to login differently?No. As a Premium Member, you will login the same way you did before, using your email address and password. The Au Pair King Site will automatically recognize your premium membership and provide access to the contact information for all listed aupairs and families. How can I find my own profile?When you log into your account, you can see your photo and some links on the left (instead of login form). Clicking on your photo will take you to your profile directly. How can I edit my own profile?After you logged into your account, please click 'Edit my profile' link on the left to access the form containing your current data which you will be able to modify and save by clicking 'Save changes' button below the form. Why has my account been deactivated?Your account may be deactivated automatically if you do not sign in to your registered account for a period of 150 days (~5 months). This means that your profile will not appear in search results. You will be notified via your registered email address that your account has been deactivated. If you do not log into your account within 30 days of de-activation, your account will be automatically deleted from Au Pair King Site database.
